The prestigious Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institutes offer intensive residential professional development experiences for women faculty and administrators in mid-level and senior-level positions in higher education. HERS offers three institutes, two two-week residential summer programs and one multiple weekend program during the academic year. Each of the HERS Institutes provide participants with opportunities to learn from senior women leaders and higher education scholars.
The curriculum prepares participants for institutional leadership roles with the knowledge and skills to achieve organizational priorities and maximizing available resources. In addition, HERS Institute participants work with HERS faculty and alumnae to develop the professional skills and networks needed to advance as leaders in higher education administration.
In fiscal year 2016-2017, neither the Office of the Senior Vice President, Administration, nor WIM is financially supporting the attendance of WIM members at the HERS Institutes.
In lieu of the HERS Institutes, financial support is available in FY 2016-2017 for the following opportunities: career-related seminars and conferences, books or tuition for an ongoing or upcoming degree program, and continuing education or professional certification courses.
Information on the criteria for applying, deadlines, and the actual application is available on the Financial Support Initiative page.
